UK TREND : Another Matt Hancock scandal

More than 100,000 WhatsApp messages exchanged between Matt Hancock and other ministers and officials during the Covid-19 pandemic have been obtained by The Telegraph.
The telegraph has already began revealing messages and will reveal more Over the coming days, which reveal the often-casual approach that ministers took to making major decisions and the way they were only concerned with their own goals rather than safety of the community.
Following Hancock’s most recent scandal, the public was not surprised and quickly took to twitter to discuss the harm caused by the leaked messages. Shortly after the news broke, the hashtag #Matt Hancock started trending once more.

Journalist Ayshah Tull tweeted about her difficult experience of “ visiting care homed during the pandemic”. As she first hand saw the difficulties care homes were experiencing and how “ livid they were about the lack of testing”. Whilst the government claims they put a “ protective ring” around care homes.
When I visited care homes during the pandemic owners, staff and families were livid about the lack of testing and incredulous when Matt Hancock and the government said they put a “protective ring” around care homes

Twitter user Patricia Treble highlighted the severity of the damage caused by those leaked messages. She shared that “ In April 2020 : chief Medical Officer wants testing for “all going into care homes. Matt Hancock did not follow that guidance, telling his advisers that it “muddies the waters” and consequently between April 17 and August 13, 2020, a total of 17,678 people died of Covid in care homes in England” .

People were shocked at “ the idiocy of his actions. As he downloaded all his incriminating private WhatsApp messages and handed them over to Isabel Oakeshott trusting she’d write a lovely hagiography of his time as Health Secretary instead of selling them to the highest bidder.”
So Matt Hancock downloaded all his incriminating private WhatsApp messages and handed them over to Isabel Oakeshott trusting she’d write a lovely hagiography of his time as Health Secretary instead of selling them to the highest bidder. We truly are governed by idiots.

Am *slightly surprised* that Matt Hancock thought giving Isabel Oakeshott access to what looks like ALL his WhatsApp messages from the entire pandemic was a great idea that definitely wouldn’t backfire. Good scoop for Telegraph though. https://t.co/M3bC7aFeBd

Others were advocating for “ Matt Hancock to be on trial”, to be prosecuted for his actions.
