The Plan of Ramadan

Eid ul Fitr in the United Kingdom
لانة الصّميدعي 9 April 2022

Allah (SWT) had ordered Fast Ramadan for many reasons, one of which is to help us plan our lives ahead, whether it was before Ramadan, during Ramadan, or after it!

And so we must keep in mind that the main reason for fasting is to be closer to god, achieve Taqwa, and learn how to plan our lives.

Hope that we are not among those who Allah described in his holy book saying (“Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!)  [Surah Al-Fajr: 24]

That is why indeed it is better to set up an agenda or a plan for Ramadan.

Always plan to do more during the holy month

The holy month comes every year providing us with the chance to redefine our religion and get closer to God once again.  It is such a waste for it comes unnoticed. (chris180.org)

There are many ways mentioned that we can benefit from Ramadan, but the main benefit was summarized in: (O YOU who have attained to faith! Fasting is ordained for you as it was ordained for those before you so that you might remain conscious of Go) [Surah Al-Baqarah:183]

However, do not start any projects or goals that you are unable to finish, let us start with the main goals you should have during this Ramadan:

First: Dua (Prayer)

Let us set our mind on a prayer we want to be saying during this Ramada, a goal you hope to reach, a dua we can say right before breaking our Fast and after with a heart full of devotion.

Second: Sadaqah (Giving Away – Donating)

Plan to donate more and give Sadaqah to those in need, remembering what God said: (The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit |except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart) [Surah Al-Shuara:88-89)

Third: Having Honest Intentions – Pure Hearts

Maybe it is the time to plan to be pure-hearted, first with Allah, and then with those around you.

Try to always forgive those who hurt you and don’t have any grudges against them.

Fourth: Qura’an

We all plan to reread the Quran in Ramadan, but maybe have a goal to understand and read I more thoroughly.

Plan to read after prayers, at Suhoor, after Fajr prayer, after midnight, whenever you can!

And here I end it by wishing you all to have a very blessed Ramadan!
