Ramadan is around the corner … Get ready!

Ramadan around the corner ... Be ready!
لانة الصميدعي 24 March 2022

The count for the holy month Ramadan had already started … so are you ready?

Many stores and sellers had already started their “special offers” for Ramadan, abusing the sentimental meaning of Ramadan for many people. Using their emotions and faith as a selling point.

There is no harm in buying decorations and preparing for the upcoming month, especially if you have children!

Some preparations can include special food, or traditional clothes.

But with Ramadan being right around the corner, we see people commercializing the holy month even more. Selling unrelated material in the name of Holy Month, and creating characters to present the month that never existed before. (https://hippainhelp.com/)

In the meanwhile, forgetting the real reason we fast this month for 30 full days.

How to prepare for Ramadan?

The real preparation is the preparation of the soul, mind, and heart, by following the Sunnah and the words of our prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

And by saying Duaa and Athkar, and even working on completing the Quran.

You sow in yourself all that is good, to reap its blessings in the end.

As preparing our children, educating them, and deepening the meaning of fasting is the core purpose of of Ramadan.

And as the Hadith Qudsi says, narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Allah said, ‘All the deeds of Adam’s sons (people) are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.’ Fasting is a shield or protection from the fire and from committing sins. If one of you is fasting, he should avoid sexual relation with his wife and quarreling, and if somebody should fight or quarrel with him, he should say, ‘I am fasting.’ By Him in Whose Hands my soul is’ The unpleasant smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk.”

We pray to God in these holy days as we prepare to our souls and selves, and say (O Allah! preserve me for Ramadan, safeguard Ramadan for me and accept it from me.) Amen.
