Supporters of the Royal Family were also defending the ceremony from those that were criticizing the huge costs, by highlighting that it will bring in much more revenue for the country, therefore “ people should not be complaining about the costs.
Nevertheless, critics of the ceremony were sharing how “ absurd” they believe the current situation of the UK is. One user shared an image from “Westminster tube station, whereby a homeless person is using King Charles’ Coronation newspapers in a desperate effort to make the cold, hard floor more comfortable to sleep on. A perfect reflection of the absurdity of the U.K. right now.”

A video was also shared on Twitter of football fans chanting during a match about how “ no one cares about the coronation”.
Images were also posted of the practice of the coronation, along with the caption “ the King’s coronation : the biggest and most expensive circus in the world, supported by the largest number of hypocrites in the world.”
Another critic stated that the “ coronation is ostentatious, to say the least. Hundred million taxpayers’ money spent on these greedy inbreeds whilst the poor struggle. Honestly, it’s contemptuous.”
People shared that if “ the self-entitled so-called King truly was a worthy monarch deserving respect he’d value those British people struggling on the poverty line & have a small coronation giving the multi-millions of pounds wasted in this obscene spectacle to help the people in need. But he won’t!”.
