UK TREND : Ramadan is trending across the UK
In the UK and around the world, Ramadan 2023 will start with the first day of fasting on Thursday. The religious celebration, which occurs during the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a time for worship, fasting, prayer, charity, community spirit, and spiritual growth.
Twitter in UK celebrates Ramadan 2023
Twitter has been filled with messages of congratulations for Muslims on the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan from members of the public, politicians, and social media influencers. Social media platforms have been flooded with posts about Ramadan from both Muslims and non-Muslims, with the hashtag #Ramadan 2023 trending worldwide.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle , the 158th speaker of the house of commons shared a sweet message on twitter, although he is not Muslim. He stated : “ Ramadan Mubarak ! I would like to send my warmest wishes to everyone observing the holy month of Ramadan, both here in the UK and around the world.”

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan also shared an image of him with the Ramadan Lights in Piccadilly, along with the caption : “ For the first time ever – the West End is being lit up by a beautiful display of lights to mark the holy month of Ramadan. SNP health secretary Humza Yousaf shared that he will be fasting during Ramadan, and he knows “ it is a month of sacrifice, spirituality and gives us an opportunity to spend time with family, friends and community.
