The Palestinian Forum in Britain held its seventh annual Iftar in Byron Hall, on Saturday 1st April, where a number of prominent personalities from the Arab and Islamic communities in the United Kingdom attended the Iftar. In addition, Sheikh Imam Muhammad Jibril from Egypt was also present.

Sheikh Imam Muhammad Jibril opened the ceremony with a beautiful and touching Quran reciting and later ended it by leading the participants in Tarawih prayers.

Tariq Hammoud, Vice-President of the Palestinian Forum in Britain, said a few moving words at the opening of the iftar as well, he spoke of the heroes still fighting for their land and the land of their ancestors, standing in the face of the occupation and reminding them that Al-Aqsa will remain ours.

Hammoud reminded the audience of the need to participate in political activities in support of our people in Jerusalem and throughout Palestine during the coming weeks, especially the annual march on the anniversary of the Nakba on Saturday 13 of next month.

The Palestinians in Britain took it upon themselves to restore ten homes for Palestinian refugees in Jordan, as part of the seventh annual Ramadan Iftar organized by the Palestinian Forum in Britain with the help of the Egyptian reciter Muhammad Jibril and thousands of people from Arab communities.

Adnan Hmidan, Founder of Al-Arab in UK (AUK), kicked off the fundraiser part of the event to help restore and rehabilitate Palestinian refugees’ homes in Jordanian Camp. After only a few minutes, the 9000£ was raised!


The Iftar program included a few educational competitions focusing on the history of the Palestinian cause and included everyone gathering for Tarawih prayers. To raise awareness, the ceremony also showed scenes from the reality of the suffering of Palestinian refugees in the diaspora camps.
