Tens of Thousands Protest in London Over the Israeli-American Aggression Against Iran and Escalating Middle East Conflict
Around 50,000 demonstrators gathered in central London on Saturday in one of the largest recent public mobilisations in the British capital, protesting what organisers described as the Israeli-American aggression against Iran and the escalating military tensions across the Middle East.
Participants expressed solidarity with civilians in Iran, Palestine and Lebanon and criticised what they described as US and Israeli military actions in the region.
March towards the US embassy
The march brought together members of Britain’s Arab and Muslim communities alongside British activists and supporters from a wide range of backgrounds. Protesters carried flags and banners calling for an immediate halt to military operations and chanted slogans demanding an end to civilian casualties and attacks on schools and residential areas.

Organisers warned that the current escalation risked pushing the region — and potentially the wider international community — towards a broader military confrontation.
Political message directed at the UK government
Speakers at the rally sharply criticised US and Israeli policies, accusing both governments of responsibility for civilian suffering in the region.
Demonstrators also directed demands at the UK government led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, calling for:

The immediate withdrawal of any British political or military support for ongoing military operations

A stronger diplomatic role from the UK aimed at de-escalation rather than further confrontation
Protests extend beyond central London
Demonstrations were not confined to the capital’s centre. Activists also gathered near RAF Fairford, objecting to the reported use of British air bases to support US military operations in the region.
Police implemented heightened security measures throughout the day, including designated protest routes and increased patrols. Demonstrators were required to disperse before 5:00 p.m.
In a separate development, another protest took place in Whitehall organised by opponents of the Iranian government. That march moved toward the Iranian Embassy in Knightsbridge.
Organisers vow continued mobilisation
Organisers of the anti-war demonstration said the large turnout reflected growing public pressure on Western governments to reconsider their policies in the Middle East.
They pledged to continue organising peaceful protests aimed at advocating for de-escalation and what they described as the protection of human rights and civilian life in the region.
