Massive March for Gaza in London – Saturday 14 October
The Palestinian Forum in Britain and other organizations have called for participation in a massive march that is expected to be attended by at least one hundred thousand protesters on Saturday, October 14, 2023. The march aims to denounce the Israeli aggression on Gaza and demand an end to the occupation of Palestine.
The route and purpose of the massive march
The march will begin from the BBC headquarters in Oxford Circus in central London in front of Portland Palace, then head to the British government headquarters, passing through Trafalgar Square. The purpose of this demonstration is to express rejection of the repeated attacks of the Israeli forces on civilians in Gaza and to seek to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
The march comes in response to the invitation of the Palestinian Forum in Britain, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Friends of Al-Aqsa and the Islamic Association in Britain, the Stop the War Coalition and the Stop Nuclear Armament Alliance.
The situation in Gaza
The march comes in the context of the brutal retaliation of the Israeli forces against women, children and civilians in Gaza, including homes, mosques and infrastructure, in addition to imposing a tight siege on Gaza, which included preventing food, medicine, water, electricity, fuel and all basic human needs from it.
The Israeli forces continue their blatant attack on Gaza, which has resulted in the martyrdom of 1,537 Palestinians and the injury of 6,612 others, since the start of the Israeli aggression on the sector on Saturday, 7 October.
The Israeli planes continued today, Friday, bombing residential neighbourhoods in the sector, where bodies of a group of martyrs and several wounded were recovered after bombing the house of the Sabih family in Tel al-Hawa west of Gaza City.
This is while the bombing of the Israeli forces focused on residential neighbourhoods in Gaza, in addition to targeting refugee camps in the Gaza Strip in recent hours.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza Ashraf al-Qudra had confirmed in media statements that “hours separate Gaza hospitals from stopping providing their services”, indicating that the health system in the sector “entered a stage of major collapse”.
The organizers of the massive march in London confirmed raising the Palestinian flag at the demonstration, focusing on its goal of educating people and the world about the Palestinian issue, drawing attention to it and putting pressure on the British government to save civilians. They pointed out that instructions from the Home Secretary Sualla Braverman regarding glorifying terrorism or what falls into that do not concern them; Because this was never a concern in all pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the past decades.
