Knighthood:

Professor Bashir Mohammed Ali Al-Hashimi, CBE, FREng, FRS

  • Background: Born in Baghdad in 1961, Professor Al-Hashimi is a globally acclaimed expert in computer engineering.
  • Current Role: Vice President for Research and Innovation and Professor of Computer Engineering at King’s College London.
  • Achievements: Renowned for pioneering research in energy-efficient computing and embedded systems design, along with developing innovative technologies for semiconductor chip testing.
  • Accolades: Awarded the Faraday Medal by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2023.

Professor Al-Hashimi’s contributions have cemented his reputation as one of the leading minds in global computer engineering.


Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE):

Professor Safaa Taha Al-Sarraj

  • Field: Neurology
  • Current Role: Head of Clinical Neurology at King’s College Hospital NHS.
  • Achievements: Recognised for advancing the understanding of neurological diseases through groundbreaking research and clinical leadership.

Dr. Mohammed Raouf Abdul Kareem Al-Kattan, FREng

  • Field: Maritime Engineering
  • Current Role: Founder of Safinah Ltd, a leading company specializing in marine coatings, and a board member of I-Tech AB.
  • Achievements: Played a key role in developing cutting-edge maritime technologies, establishing himself as a leader in the global maritime engineering sector.

Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE):

Abdul Kareem Al-Futaihi

  • Field: Business and Trade
  • Current Role: CEO of United Corporation.
  • Achievements: Instrumental in strengthening trade relations between Britain and global markets, contributing significantly to international economic cooperation.

Alaa Mohammed Ali Haboubi

  • Current Role: Owner of Noir Café in Thames Ditton.
