Jordanian Forum in The UK Celebrates the Joyous Wedding of Prince Hussein
The Jordanian Forum in the UK celebrated the wedding of His Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of Jordan, to His Highness Princess Rajwa Al Hussein on Saturday, June 3, in London, as well as the Kingdom’s 77th Independence Day.
Jordan’s crown prince married an architect and the daughter of a prominent Saudi family, Rajwa Alseif, on the first Thursday of June in a palace celebration attended by many royals and political figures, including Prince William and Princess Kate.
Jordanians celebrated this joyous event across the UK in a gathering organized by the Jordanian Forum in the UK (JOUK).
Jordanian Celebration in the Heart of Amman
Keen to preserve the Jordanian identity and take pride in the various national events, the forum called on the Jordanian community in Britain to celebrate in a traditional way.
The ceremony included Jordanian folk dances, national songs and chants, and an entertainment program for children. Sweets were also given to those present, as is customary in Jordan to give sweets on happy occasions.
Hilmi Harahsheh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jordanian Forum in the United Kingdom, expressed his happiness at the gathering of the Jordanian community in Britain to celebrate national occasions. He also extended, on behalf of the Forum, his warmest congratulations to His Royal Highness Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah and Princess Rajwa Al-Hussein on their blessed wedding.
