Red Ribbons Campaign Launches Global Online Action Against Israeli “Prisoner Execution Law”
A large-scale international online campaign under the banner “Red Ribbons” is set to launch today from London, mobilising opposition to what campaigners describe as Israel’s “prisoner execution law” targeting Palestinian detainees.
The initiative, organised as a coordinated digital action across social media platforms, seeks to draw international attention to the legal and humanitarian implications of legislation that activists argue could legitimise executions under judicial cover.
Campaigners warn of a “dangerous escalation”

Organisers say the campaign comes in response to what they describe as escalating threats facing Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli detention facilities.
According to campaign statements, the initiative aims to highlight concerns surrounding the Israeli law referred to by activists as the “prisoner execution law”, which they believe opens the door to systematic executions of detainees under legal authority.
The campaign calls on human rights advocates, international institutions and supporters of the Palestinian cause to speak out against what organisers describe as violations of international law and humanitarian norms.
Coordinated online mobilisation
The organising committee has invited supporters to participate in a concentrated wave of online engagement across multiple social media platforms.
The campaign is scheduled as follows:
- Date: Saturday, 9 May 2026
- Time: 6:00 p.m. local time
- Objective: Expanding international awareness and solidarity around the issue of Palestinian prisoners
Participants are being encouraged to share posts, images and awareness content in order to increase visibility and place pressure on international actors and policymakers.
Campaign slogan and hashtags
The initiative is being promoted under the slogan:
“Stop the Executions.”
Campaign organisers are encouraging participants to use the following hashtags:
- #StopExecutions
- #أوقفوا_إعدامات_الأسرى (Stop the Execution of Prisoners)
- #FreePalHostages
“Silence enables these laws”
In a statement accompanying the campaign launch, organisers argued that international silence has contributed to the advancement of such legislation.
“Silence from the international community is the fuel that feeds these unjust laws,” the campaign said. “Your engagement today is the wall that protects our prisoners.”
Digital activism and the Palestinian issue
The launch reflects the growing role of coordinated digital activism within pro-Palestine campaigning, particularly as social media increasingly becomes a central arena for shaping public narratives and international visibility.
Organisers say the Red Ribbons initiative is intended not only as an online protest, but as part of a broader effort to keep the issue of Palestinian prisoners present within global political and human rights discussions.
The campaign also unfolds amid continuing international attention on the Israeli assault on Gaza and wider debates surrounding detention, protest and human rights in the region.
