“Red Ribbon Campaign” Calls for Global Action in Solidarity with Female Prisoners in Occupation Jails
The “Red Ribbon Campaign” has launched a global appeal titled “Cry of the Free Women in an Era of Ongoing Extermination,” calling on people around the world to take part in widespread activism starting in London. The campaign aims to stand in solidarity with female prisoners in occupation jails, who are enduring inhumane conditions described in the statement as “human slaughterhouses.”
Call for Global Action (March 6–8)
The campaign announced major solidarity events beginning with “Friday of Rage” on March 6, 2026, continuing until Sunday, March 8. It invited participants to a protest in London, in front of Downing Street, on Friday at 6:00 PM. The campaign stressed that the purpose of these actions is to raise a strong voice against executions, abuse, and systemic torture of female prisoners, while challenging the world’s silence on their suffering.
Prisoners’ Reality: Alarming Numbers and Immediate Danger
In a statement issued on March 3, 2026, the campaign emphasized that the occupation is attempting to exploit the world’s focus on regional conflicts—from Iran and Lebanon to the Gulf—to hide its crimes against detainees. The scope of the tragedy includes:
- Over 9,000 prisoners, male and female, held in dark, oppressive cells.
- 350 children imprisoned, robbed of their childhood.
- More than 3,000 administrative detainees held without charge or trial.
- 66 female prisoners, including academics, doctors, and mothers, subjected to systematic psychological and physical torture, most under arbitrary administrative detention.
Female Prisoners… Hostages in the Hands of the Occupation
The statement highlighted that these women are not legally detained but are effectively hostages of political and military oppression. Among them are three underage girls and female cancer patients, facing slow deaths due to deliberate malnutrition and denial of medical care. This suffering coincides with the occupation’s approval of the “Prisoner Execution Law.”
Campaign Coordinator Statement: “A Test of Humanity”
Adnan Hmidan, coordinator of the Red Ribbon Campaign, declared:
“Let the world hear clearly: The escalation of regional conflicts will not serve as a cover to forget our female prisoners or to allow the occupation to single them out. These are not prison issues—they are acts of hostage-taking, used to exert political and psychological pressure. Keeping our doctors, academics, and mothers at the mercy of the Zionist jailers, under the threat of execution and deliberate malnutrition, is a test of humanity’s conscience.”
Hmidan affirmed that the campaign will continue its activism until these chains of injustice are broken, emphasizing that “the smoke of regional missiles cannot cover the silent suffering of cancer patients in their cells.”
