A large solidarity gathering took place at Piccadilly Circus in central London, in front of the Underground station, as part of the “Red Ribbons Campaign.” Dozens of participants assembled to demand the release of Palestinian children held in Israeli prisons, along with thousands of other Palestinian detainees.

Participants raised banners reading “Freedom for Prisoners” and the hashtag “#FreePalHostages,” and wore red ribbons in a symbolic display of solidarity with detained children, stressing the urgent need for their immediate release.

Organizers stated that the rally forms part of a series of actions aimed at highlighting the issue of detained children and pressing for swift international intervention.

Speakers at the event called for the release of around 350 Palestinian children held in Israeli prisons, in addition to thousands of other Palestinian detainees, emphasizing that their continued detention constitutes a violation of international law and children’s rights conventions. They also urged the British government to intervene and apply pressure to secure their release.

In remarks delivered during the gathering, organizers called on the UK government to halt its support for Israel, stop arms exports, and end any form of military or political backing that could prolong the conflict.

They further stressed that the British public bears a moral responsibility to raise its voice in defense of human rights, calling for broader action from civil society organizations.

The rally drew attention from passersby and tourists, some of whom stopped to listen to speeches and take photos, while organizers ensured the demonstration remained peaceful.

Participants concluded the event by affirming that solidarity actions would continue across cities in Britain until their demands—particularly the release of detained children and all Palestinian prisoners, and clearer political action from the UK regarding what they described as ongoing violations—are met.
