Assertions were made by the public that if these Tory MPs possessed any integrity, they would choose to resign instead of demonstrating complete disregard for Parliament, democracy, truth, and the British people, as they are currently doing.
Boris Johnson knew the Covid rules, knew they were broken and knew he was lying when asked.
The Committee reports what many of us have long-believed. So it is right he has gone.
But the Conservatives will have been aware too and must resign as well. It's time for an election. pic.twitter.com/4DKLS8HZPA
— Beth Winter MP (@BethWinterMP) June 15, 2023
Beth Winter, a Labour Member of Parliament, joined the chorus of voices demanding the resignation of Conservative MPs. In a tweet, she stated that Boris Johnson was fully aware of the Covid rules, consciously broke them, and deceived when questioned about it. Winter highlighted that the committee’s report merely confirmed what many have suspected for some time. While Johnson’s departure was appropriate, she argued that the Conservatives must also take responsibility and step down, as they too were aware of the situation. Winter concluded by asserting that it is time for an election.
