Multiple locations in Gaza have been attacked by Israeli aircraft, which also hit a “military site” west of the city and a location in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the middle of the Strip. Following Israeli police assaults on worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque overnight, the raids took place.

Individuals took to social media to share the news and condemn Israel for their actions against the worshippers in the blessed Aqsa Mosque and the people of Gaza. The hashtags #Gaza and #Al-Aqsa have been trending on Twitter with hundreds of thousands of tweets, as people have been sharing their support for the Palestinians’ suffering.

Activist and Artist Lowkey shared a video of him at a protest for Palestine, along with the caption: “As Israel raids Al-Aqsa, bombs Gaza and continues with extreme cruelty on an industrial scale, remember that billions stand with the Palestinians and the support is growing by the day”.

Individuals were sharing the news of the bombings taking place in Gaza and highlighting the differential treatment of people, as Western media seem to be ignoring the attacks on Gazan people as they are not Western. One user stated, “Victims are not blue–eyed Europeans, so it’s not considered terrorism in the Western world”.

Another user tweeted: “ Dear World, while you are sleeping, Israeli warplanes are attacking 2 million Palestinians in Gaza at this moment. For Ukraine, the voices were raised all over the world, but for Palestine nothing. Aren’t Palestinians humans too.”

People were sharing videos of the bombs being dropped on Gaza and asking for others to “ pray for the people of Gaza” as they go through these difficult times during the blessed month of Ramadan.

People across the world were sharing their support for the people of Palestine. Pakistani politician Maryam Nawas Sharif tweeted “ Israel’s attacks on Al-Aqsa mosque and Gaza are a ruthless assault on Palestinian lives & worship. A naked violation of human rights demands urgent action by the international community. We stand with our brothers & sisters in this time of heartbreak and pain”.
