The Qatari Cultural Attaché in the UK Honours the Graduates of 2024
In a grand ceremony held on Tuesday, the Qatari Cultural Attache in London honored its graduates for 2024, blending celebratory moments with motivational messages.
The event was graced by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, who delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing that this moment marks the beginning of a new phase of learning and growth, and that the homeland awaits the graduates’ contributions in return.
Qatari Cultural Attache Hosts 2024 Graduation Ceremony in London
The ceremony was attended by a large number of dignitaries and family members who accompanied the graduates throughout their academic journey. Qatari students who graduated from various British universities were recognized, reflecting Qatar’s appreciation for their efforts and academic achievements.
During the event, “Arab Platform in Britain” interviewed several graduates and organizers, including Zaid Waddah Khnefer, a graduate from Westminster University who ranked first in Economic Relations. Zaid expressed his gratitude to Qatar for the ongoing support received by him and all students, noting that the interaction with the Qatari Embassy significantly eased feelings of loneliness, with the embassy providing support akin to that of a family. He advised Qatari students to travel and study worldwide, emphasizing that such experiences enhance their skills and personal development. He also pointed out that gaining practical experience abroad serves as a crucial alternative to relying on foreign expertise and helps meet the country’s needs for rare specializations.
Qatari Cultural Attache’s Ongoing Efforts in Promoting Global Education
Abdullah Al Issak, a PhD graduate from Imperial College, affirmed the ambassador’s remarks, highlighting that this moment is the beginning of further development and achievements. He praised the individuals who participated in the ceremony, including Mrs. Noura Al Ansari, Head of the Scholarships Department, Mr. Fahad bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, the Cultural Attaché in the UK, and other prominent figures. In this context, Mrs. Noura Al Ansari emphasized the importance of graduates serving as role models for their peers still studying, quoting the words of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani: “Qatar deserves the best from its children.”
She advised students to leverage their experiences and engage in professional life, noting that their achievements are a significant chapter in Qatar’s history. The ceremony also saw the presence of many British university representatives, sending a reaffirming message of support to the graduates and maintaining academic relations beyond graduation. The Qatari Cultural Attache in London continues its efforts by sending hundreds of students annually to top British and global universities, in line with the Ministry of Education’s commitment to advancing education and addressing various challenges.
