Media reports have quoted the a statement – published by the Daily Record – issued by the county of West Yorkshire, in which it talks about the emergence of a new challenge called (beaning), which constitutes throwing the contents baked bean cans on the property of others, videoblogging it and posting it via Tik Tok.
How did the British police force handle it?
The statement urged store owners to pay attention to the phenomenon of children buying cans of beans. It also appealed to parents to monitor their children’s behavior and preventing them from taking bean cans outside. Surrey police have published pictures showing multiple scenes of spilt beans smeared everywhere.
“Local officers have received reports of incidents in Wonersh where beans and other food has been poured onto residents front doors and cars overnight. The victims are understandably distressed by this unacceptable behaviour,” said a Surrey Police spokesman.
The police asked residents to provide any information that would help in locating the people responsible for similar incidents.
