Matt Hancock embarrasses himself yet again on ‘I’m A Celebrity’
Matt Hancock served as the UK Health Secretary back in the Covid-19 pandemic, resigning in June 2021 after a video of him having an affair in his office – and social distancing guidelines – went viral on the internet. Recently, the fallen secretary was suspended from the Conservative Party altogether after accepting an invitation to appear on ‘I’m a Celebrity.’
Matt Hancock embarrasses himself
In this week’s episode, Hancock was once again questioned by his campmates about the events leading up to his resignation during the Covid lockdown.
Despite expressing regret over breaking Covid guidelines, Hancock defended his overall record as health secretary. That attitude, as well as his commitment to a TV show while his party members sit in parliament, was highly criticised by social media users.
Matt Hancock is so CRINGE 😬

Your reminder that Matt Hancock and Boris Johnson are BOTH STILL MPs, and get paid £84,144 to represent their constituents.
One has been in the Caribbean for weeks and the other one is going on a fucking reality TV series.
The system is broken.

Matt Hancock and ‘I’m A Celebrity’
In response to Scarlette Douglas’ question about why he broke the guidelines he himself helped develop as a cabinet minister, Hancock said: “It was a mistake, I fell in love with somebody.” He claims all he wants now is “forgiveness” from the public. People were furious at his request, as they all believed he should be held accountable.
'This man has got the nerve to be on screen – blubbing – asking for forgiveness.'

Since Hancock’s appearance on the show, many have refused to watch it or support it.

While Matt Hancock licks his wounds in public, it is worth remembering that his neighbour Alex Bourne's company, Hinpack, obtained £50 million worth of NHS contracts following several WhatsApp conversations with Hancock while he was Health Secretary.
There is a word for it.
