Masks are back to schools as covid cases surge among students
Headteachers across England are said to be making face masks compulsory for pupils again, due to a surge in covid cases among students.
Only a month into the new school semester, yet LBC has been told that dozens of schools all across the UK are already planning on masking the students up and maintaining social distancing procedures yet again.
Covid comes back to schools
Figures saw more than 200 thousand schoolchildren missing classes last week, exceeding the week before by around 66%. The causes for the absences were mostly due to covid-19. But some were identified cases, some suspected, and others somehow linked to the virus. (buy modafinil baikal pharmacy)
National Education Unit Vice President Louise Atkinson told LBC: “We fully support any schools bringing back such measures. We were promised improved ventilation. We’re putting people in overcrowded, poorly ventilated buildings and the message at the moment is essentially ‘wash your hands’.”
LBC has seen letters from secondary schools in Leeds and Newcastle, informing pupils’ parent of the masks’ comeback to prevent spreading the coronavirus even further.
Ever since the beginning of the pandemic, wearing face masks was one of the measures that were implemented right away across the world. Now, medical evidence has proved their effectiveness against the virus.
So, it is no surprise face coverings will be the first measure schools resort to. Although, it is uncertain how well parents and students alike might receive the news.
