Ben Jamal Resigns from PSC Leadership “With Great Sadness”
Former Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) director Ben Jamal has announced his resignation after nearly six years of leading the organisation, explaining that the decision was prompted by the deteriorating health of his partner, who was diagnosed with early-onset dementia six years ago and now requires significantly greater care and support.
Jamal said that, in recent years, he had been able to balance his personal responsibilities with his role at the helm of the campaign. However, he said his current circumstances no longer allow him to meet the demands of the position at the level it requires, stressing that the role can only be carried out with full-time dedication. He added that he was stepping down “with great sadness”.

Appeal Against Court Ruling Continues
In a separate statement, Jamal confirmed that he will continue his appeal against the ruling issued against him and Chris Nineham of the Stop the War Coalition, in connection with their involvement in leading a peaceful protest held on 18 January 2024. The appeal hearing is scheduled for 14 December.
He said he intends to devote sufficient time to preparing for the appeal, adding that the Palestine Solidarity Campaign will continue to fully support the legal proceedings in the coming period.
The Campaign’s Role Over the Past Decade

Over the past decade, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign has played a prominent role in raising awareness of the Palestinian cause across British society. The organisation has helped build one of the largest Palestine solidarity movements in Europe, with a nationwide network of more than 100 branches across Britain.
The campaign has also led sustained political and media advocacy initiatives, contributing to greater public awareness of the Palestinian issue and wider support for Palestinian rights. In doing so, it has become one of the most influential platforms within Britain’s Palestine solidarity movement.
Jamal concluded his message by affirming that the struggle for the liberation of Palestine will remain central to his life and activism. He expressed hope that he would continue supporting the cause in the future, while acknowledging that his immediate priorities will now be his family and his ongoing legal battle.
