Adele Moved to Los Angeles due London’s Real Estate Prices!
Adele spoke about her moving to Los Angeles, California, stating that the main reason was London’s real estate prices.
As reported by The Independent, the British singer, who is on the cover of both British Vogue and US Vogue for November 2021, opened up about her move to California during her first interview in 5 years, she also talked about her divorce, her son Angelo, and her weight loss.
Adele stated that one of the main reasons that she, her ex-husband, and her son chose to move to Los Angeles was to improve their life quality. Someone Like You singer said in the interview that she spends most of her time in London “inside a building or in the car” and that she would like to have “fresh air and somewhere I could see the sky”
According to her that the prices of real estate in the US are lower than in the UK, as she claimed that she can never afford a similar house to the one she has now in LA in London. “And the kind of house I have in LA I could never afford in London. Ever,” Adele said.
The writer at British Vogue did not believe Adele’s claims at first, to which Adele responded with: “No, I looked at houses. It’s like hundreds of millions of pounds. I don’t have that much money at all. I’d throw up.”
Adele has a net worth of 177$m as reported by Sunday Times Rich List, while The New York Post also reported that the three houses Adele owns in LA costed 30$m, 10$m for each house.
As for the reason the British singer owns three adjacent homes, she stated that it was to allow her ex-husband to live across from her and their son Angelo.
She added that she struggled with breaking her family up, and how that would affect her son Angelo, Adele said: “In the end, I was like: ‘We’re not going to. You’ve bought the house opposite my house. Nothing changes for Angelo.’
Even though Adele chose to live in LA, she told Vogue British that her house in Los Angeles has a “British Cottage” vibe. She mentioned that the house she owns in London has more of a “European Style”. “It’s like Italian or something. I don’t even want to sit down in it,” she said.
