The Arab Voice: Campaign Members Gear Up for the Next Elections
“Evaluation Aimed at Adjusting Our Course for Greater Presence in the Upcoming Elections” With these words, Adnan Hmidan, the head of the Arab Voice Campaign for the British Elections, summarized the objective of the meeting called by the campaign’s coordination team on the evening of Thursday, July 18, 2024. The meeting took place in central London, with a notable attendance of campaign members, both in person and online.

The meeting featured a summary of the key activities undertaken by the Arab Voice Campaign in recent months, including:
- Agreement on a joint support list with the Muslim Voice Campaign in Britain.
- Launching a pre-election survey to gauge the orientations of Arab voters in Britain.
- Launching a post-election survey to identify who Arabs in Britain voted for.
- Holding three educational seminars in London:
– “British Arabs and the Role Required in Elections”
– “Arab Women Candidates and Participation Opportunities”
– “Scenarios of Arab and Muslim Influence in Elections”
- Organizing field meetings with the Arab community outside London in:
– Bristol, in cooperation with the Bristol Arab Forum.
– Cardiff, in cooperation with the Syrian Welsh Society.
– Birmingham, in cooperation with the Yemeni Community Association and Newcastle. - Adopting the electronic link launched by PSC to inform voters about their MPs’ positions on issues related to Palestine and how they voted in parliament.
- Launching a media campaign to encourage British Arabs to participate in elections.
- Launching a campaign to boycott parties that have failed Gaza.
- Continuous efforts to build consensus in areas with more than one candidate supporting Palestine.
- Focusing on approximately 100 out of 650 constituencies where Muslims, including Arabs, form a majority.
