The British capital will welcome a unique cultural event this autumn, as ‘Tunisian Culture Weekend in London’ takes place from 2 to 5 October 2025.
Organised by the non-profit association ATUGE UK in collaboration with NOWART, the event aims to showcase the richness of Tunisian heritage through cinema, music, food and cultural traditions.

Tunisian cinema in the spotlight

On 2 and 3 October (7pm), the Courthouse Hotel on Great Marlborough Street will host the fifth edition of the Alyssa Film Festival, featuring screenings of:

  • For Ilef by Saber Baccouch
  • Aïcha by Mehdi M. Barsaoui

Each screening will be followed by an exclusive Q&A session with the directors and crew, offering audiences the chance to hear the stories behind the films.

A taste of Tunisia: food, music and culture

On 5 October (2pm), St Luke’s Hall of Remembrance in Chelsea will host the second edition of Tawla Tounsia. The cultural bazaar will feature authentic Tunisian delicacies, immersive live music with DJ Helmy, and a vibrant atmosphere celebrating the country’s flavours, rhythms and traditions.

Tickets for the Tunisian Culture Weekend range from £3 to £32, available via eventbrite here.

Organisers emphasise that the event is entirely non-profit and charitable, designed to introduce London audiences to the depth of Tunisian culture and cinema.

Who is behind the initiative?

ATUGE UK is a non-profit platform that brings together Tunisians across Britain and Europe. It supports students during their academic journeys, helps members integrate into professional life, and fosters cultural and economic exchange between Tunisia and Europe. The organisation also serves as a hub for networking and dialogue between the Tunisian community, businesses and institutions.

Meanwhile, NOWART is a contemporary cultural initiative dedicated to showcasing alternative art forms and reconnecting modern creativity with its traditional roots, with a mission to reintroduce Arab – and particularly Tunisian – culture on the international stage.

Films, music, food and culture — this is the spirit of Tunisian Culture Weekend in London, a celebration that promises to bring the essence of Tunisia into the heart of the British capital.
