More than 50 countries dedicate love to Al-Aqsa in Al-Aqsa Mosque Week
More than 50 countries will participate in Al-Aqsa Mosque Week in celebration of its historical, religious and national value, and a reminder of the plight of the Palestinian people, according to a report published by Middle East Eye.
This year, Aqsa Week runs from February 24 to March 2, and is an annual global initiative organized by the non-governmental and non-profit organization “Friends of Al-Aqsa” (FOA), based in the United Kingdom.
Invitation to all Al-Aqsa Mosque lovers
In the event’s sixth year, the organization encouraged all participants to attend the workshops, talks, and activities related to the week; FOA will broadcast many of these events to everyone live on its social platforms.

The organization also urged its followers to share their love for Al-Aqsa on social media using the hashtag: (#Love Aqsa).
The “Friends of Al-Aqsa” organization called on university associations, mosques, local councils, and parliaments all over the world to participate and create events within the framework of Al-Aqsa Week, and it is expected that this year’s event will witness the largest interaction since its first launch.
Commenting on the growing popularity of Al-Aqsa Week, More than 50 countries dedicate love to Al-Aqsa in Al-Aqsa Mosque Weekgeneral director Ismail Patel said: “Al-Aqsa Week has become a global event in the past two years. This year, we are looking for contributions from organizations from more than 50 different countries. This is a huge growth compared to the past.”
Resistance Symbol
Al-Aqsa Week coincides with “Al Isra’ Wal Mi’raj” , which is celebrated by several countries on different days throughout that week. Patel explained: “Al-Aqsa Mosque has played a pivotal role in the daily life of Muslims throughout Islamic history; It belongs to every Muslim around the world.”
He insisted, “We have to revive this history and this heritage. [Al-Aqsa Mosque] is a symbol of resistance and unity for all Palestinians of all religious and non-religious sects.”
The participants also stressed the need to celebrate Al-Aqsa Week this year amid the escalating tensions in Jerusalem, especially in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood; There are many Palestinians who are under threat of evictions by “Israel”.
Recently, social media has played a major role in increasing social awareness towards Palestine. “People should be aware of the danger the Palestinians face in Jerusalem, and thus the danger to Al-Aqsa Mosque itself,” Patel said.
Events and Competitions
At the top of the lectures that will be held this year during “Al-Aqsa Week” the Palestine Association will host at “King’s College London” a lecture entitled: “Love of Al-Aqsa: Virtues and Status,” which highlights the importance of the mosque in religious terms, and its role as a symbol of Palestinian resistance.
In addition to Al Aqsa Week, FOA is presenting a competition entitled: “Children of Al Aqsa Week”; Where children under the age of five can participate in a competition to answer why they love al-Aqsa by designing a poster, making an anthropomorphic, or writing a poem
