Women Arriving from Gaza to Britain Share Painful Humanitarian Testimonies for the First Time
اية محمد 19 December 2025

In a rare and deeply moving humanitarian seminar, London will host this afternoon, Friday 19 December 2025, a special panel featuring live testimonies from young Palestinian women and female students who have recently arrived from Gaza to the UK. For the first time, they will share their direct experiences amid the ongoing genocide and siege.

The seminar will be held in the main theatre at SOAS University of London at 2:00 pm, with the participation of a distinguished group of female Gaza students who have received high-level academic scholarships at leading British universities. They will deliver personal and human testimonies documenting the reality of women and girls in Gaza, beyond dry statistics and detached political rhetoric.

The seminar is organised by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP), in collaboration with Al-Arab in UK (AUK). The panel will be moderated by educator Zainab Kamal, and the contributions of the students will be followed by remarks from the centre’s legal adviser, Dania Abd al-Haq, within a legal and rights-based framework that connects human testimony to the international context of accountability and justice.

At a time when attempts to silence or distort the Palestinian narrative are growing, attending and listening remains an ethical act before it is a political stance. Arabs in Britain’s participation in such seminars is a genuine message of support for these students, and an affirmation that stories that emerged from beneath the rubble will not be left alone. Being present, listening, and sharing what is said is one form of collective responsibility toward truth and justice.
