UK TREND: Spare by Prince Harry breaks records
The autobiography of Prince Harry sold 400,000 copies on its first day of release, making it the fastest-selling non-fiction book in history across hardback, eBook, and audio formats.
Following the book’s release on January 10th, social media platforms have been inundated with users expressing their opinions about the book.

Supporters of Prince Harry argue that he is simply defending his family from abuse and racism from the Royal family and UK tabloids, as any good husband would. Additionally, there are those who have criticized him for being selfish and betraying his family.

One twitter user highlighted that “ they cut Harry off financially to try a break him and force him to submit.” and now they’re ( The Royal family and British tabloids) furious that he has taken on “business ventures “ such as the Netflix series, in order to bring in income for his family.
Another user pointed out that the “toxic reaction from the Royal Family, Rota and British media to Harry’s book ‘Spare’ only further proves the content of the book, interview and Netflix series”. And the “ whole world is a witness” to the injustices him and Meghan experienced.
Members of the public were defending Harry on social media platforms such as Twitter, expressing that he “has simply defended his wife against vile racism and cruel abuse form both the Royal family and the UK tabloid media. The two institutions working together to destroy his reputation”.
Pictures of the royal family were shared, and their silence regarding the current events was emphasised, showing that “they are complicit.” Since their ” silence is a product of their shame” .

Nevertheless, many others were very critical of Harry, such as talk show host Candace Owens who shared on twitter: “ There is a special place in hell for people like Prince Harry. There is something about betraying family members to me that completely sickens me but doing it for profits puts them on another level.”
Additionally, Prince Harry revealed in his book that he and Prince William argued after the latter called Meghan “rude and difficult.” Meghan appears upset in some of the pictures that critics of Harry and Meghan have shared, and they claim that this shows that she is “rude, difficult, and abrasive!” Those critics claim she only displays kindness when “the cameras are watching.”
Others also took issue with the way Prince Harry slandered Prince William in his book and failed to consider Williams experiences. William also lost his mother when he was only 15 years old. He followed her casket as well. However, some people seem to think that his personal trauma is insignificant.
Piers Morgan, a controversial politician, was also one of those who criticised Prince Harry’s new memoir, calling it a “truly staggering betrayal.”
