Rashford tops the list of charity donors in the UK
The Yearly Giving List ranks the UK’s major donors or philanthropists who have donated the largest percentage of their wealth. 2021’s list sees the crowning of Marcus Rashford.
Footballer Marcus Rashford is the youngest person to ever top the list, having spent around 125% of his current fortune on charitable causes this past year, according to the list released by The Sunday Times.
At the age of 23, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been at the forefront of fighting child poverty, says “Face2Face Africa”. He is particularly involved in charities helping children receive their needs of food and education.

When schools were shut down across the United Kingdom amid the pandemic, he championed a campaign to ensure that children eligible for free school continued to be fed regularly by the government, according to The Sunday Times.
Under the banner, End Child Food Poverty campaign, the footballer’s advocacy compelled the British Government to commit £400 million to support vulnerable children across the UK, supporting 1.7 million children for the next 12 months.
Moreover, Rashford topped the list due to his work as an ambassador for food poverty charity FareShare. He helped generate an estimated £20m of additional donations to the charity. The $27 million raised, according to the Times, represents 125% of his net worth of £16 million. In May, the Times said Rashford earns $272,000 a week playing for Manchester United.
