A young woman in Manchester passes away after unintentionally consuming an alcohol cocktail with drugs mixed in.
Rebecca Marie Walsh, 28, died on March 28 after taking drugs with friends at her home, according to Manchester Evening News.
The mother of two was found unconscious in her house and promptly taken to a hospital. However, medics were unable to save her.
Details of the Incident
Rebecca had been the victim of domestic abuse and struggled with anxiety and depression while battling drug and alcohol dependency, as heard by Manchester Evening News.
Detective Inspector Nicholas Helm described the incident as an ‘unintended self-inflicted act’.
She had taken the drugs with her partner and his friend shortly before her death, the inquest heard.
Home office forensic pathologist Dr Jamie Robinson said the cause of Rebecca’s death was a combination of an anti-depressant, methadone, cocaine and alcohol.
The MEN quoted that cocaine is a dangerous drug, especially when combined with other medical drugs.
The family of the victim have described her as a “kind mother”. Even though Rebecca faced a lot of hardship and rough times in her life, she remained to be kind and caring. But her dependency on alcohol and drugs to cope was what led her to an untimely death
