Hajj 2025: Saudi Arabia Unveils Online Booking Platform for British Pilgrims
Saudi Arabia has launched a new online platform allowing pilgrims from the United Kingdom to book a range of Hajj 2025 packages directly, as part of wider efforts to modernise pilgrimage services.
Speaking to Al-Ikhbariya during an official visit to Britain, Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, said the new system offers a variety of packages tailored to different needs and budgets. It also guarantees protection for pilgrims in the event of any service issues.
Dr Al-Rabiah reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to improving services for Hajj pilgrims, highlighting that satisfaction levels among British pilgrims reached approximately 90% last year. He pointed to the adoption of modern technologies across the Hajj and Umrah sector, including the “Nusuk” app — the Kingdom’s official platform for booking travel, accommodation, and religious services.
According to the Ministry, around 530,000 UK residents visited Saudi Arabia in 2024, including 175,000 who performed Umrah. Approximately 7,000 British pilgrims completed Hajj last year, with a similar number expected for the 2025 pilgrimage.
The launch of the online booking portal is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation plan to simplify access for international pilgrims. In addition to the new Hajj system, UK citizens can also apply for Umrah and tourism e-visas through simplified online portals, supporting easier travel arrangements to the Kingdom.
Hajj 2025 is expected to take place from the evening of 4 June to the evening of 9 June, depending on the Islamic lunar calendar. British pilgrims are encouraged to plan early and make use of the official electronic services to secure their spots and ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.
