Eid Prayer for Arabs and Muslims in West London at Wembley

Join Us for a Special Eid Prayer Gathering for Arabs and Muslims in West London (1)
سجى ياسر 13 June 2024

The Palestinian Forum (PFB), with support from the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) and various Arab community organisations, invites you to a unified Eid prayer for Muslims, focused on solidarity with Gaza. The event will be held at 9:00 am on Sunday, 16 June 2024, at the Sattavis Patidar Centre (Forty Avenue, Wembley, HA9 9PG).

Dr Anas Al-Tikriti will give the Eid sermon, and Sheikh Dr Al-Saeed Abu Al-Fayouz from Egypt will lead the prayers.

This is the first time the Eid prayer for Arabs and Muslims in West London will be held in this expansive hall at Wembley, one of the region’s largest venues.

Due to the weather forecast, which predicts rain prior to Eid, the prayer will be held indoors to avoid the inconvenience of wet outdoor spaces.

As is tradition, children attending the prayer will receive free gifts. The sermon will address the plight of Gaza, urge greater solidarity, and advocate for an immediate ceasefire and cessation of arms exports to the occupying forces.

The organisers also aim to raise funds for charities that are dedicated to offering sacrifices and continuing to distribute alms and zakat, especially to those in need in Gaza, throughout Palestine, and in other afflicted parts of the Islamic world.

These donations will help sustain the organisation of Eid prayers and support Gaza solidarity events across Britain.

Anticipation is high, with thousands expected to join, especially following the attendance of over 3,000 worshippers at the recent blessed Eid al-Fitr. With this Eid occurring on a Sunday, a public holiday, there will be free but limited parking available, with priority given to those who arrive early.

Please note there will also be general activities at Wembley Stadium on that day, so parking on the surrounding streets will be regulated as usual for Sundays.

The organisers hope that this will be the last Eid prayer held while Gaza and the rest of Palestine remain under occupation. They pray for a future where these blessed days can be celebrated by the people of Palestine, the Arab world, and the entire Islamic community, free from oppression and occupation.
