Claims of Threatening Flyers in London Spark Outrage
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has reported allegations of threatening flyers discovered in Hendon, northwest London—a neighbourhood with a significant Jewish community. The flyers allegedly contained phrases such as “Zionist-free zone” and “Zionists leave Britain or be slaughtered.”
While the newspaper provided no concrete evidence to verify the claims or identify those responsible, the report has raised concerns within some Jewish circles.
Speaking to GB News, Itzik Sarfati, Executive Director of Stand With Us UK, warned of what he described as increasing antisemitic rhetoric and called for decisive measures to address it. A local Jewish resident, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed alarm, describing the flyers as a potential threat to community harmony.
Reports of similar incidents in the area have surfaced before. Members of the local Jewish community recalled finding anti-Semitic messages etched into a golf course several months ago. London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned these acts at the time, reiterating the city’s zero-tolerance policy towards hate crimes.
In response to the latest claims, pro-Palestinian activists have strongly rejected and condemned any form of hate speech or threats of violence against religious or ethnic groups. They emphasised that their efforts are focused on opposing Israeli occupation and policies, not targeting Jewish people or their faith.
