Brits are lost in Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp outage
Users worldwide are experiencing a major outage in Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. According to the Independent, Facebook says it is aware of the ongoing issues, and is trying to find a solution for it as quickly as possible.
The company’s three apps already posted statements regarding the issues on twitter (which is running as usual).
“Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them,” it wrote on its communications page. “Bear with us, we’re on it!”
And WhatsApp also updated users through its official Twitter account.
“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible,” it said.
“Thanks for your patience!”
The Independent reported that many carriers and internet networks appear to face problems as well. In the UK, these include Virgin Media, BT, Vodafone, Sky and more. However, all these problems are most likely due to Facebook being down.
It should be noted that many people rely on Facebook to log into various different websites. So it may seem as if the Internet itself has completely crashed down but that is not the case.
In the meantime, it seems that twitter is enjoying a surge in visitors. In less than an hour, it received a million like on a simple tweet saying “hello literally everyone”
