Photographer Deleted Wedding Photos Out of Revenge!
The wedding photographer sparks debate on social media after he deleted all of the wedding photos he took because the groom denied him food and break time.
The photographer had written about the incident on Reddit, saying that e actually is a dog groomer and not a wedding photographer. A friend had approached him asking him to photograph the wedding for as little as 250$.
He added that the couple was trying to save money and so they asked him to take pictures of the wedding stating that they did not are if they were not “perfect”.
According to the poster, “I started around 11 am. Around 5 pm, food is being served and I was told I cannot stop to eat because I need to be a photographer. I’m getting tired and at this point kinda regretting doing this for next to nothing. It’s also unbelievably hot: it’s like 110F and there’s no AC,”.
He then added that he tried to ask the groom for a 20-minute break to eat and drink water, the groom declined and told him that he had to continue photographing the wedding or he will not be paid.
“With the heat, being hungry, being generally annoyed at the circumstances, I asked if he was sure, and he said yes, so I deleted all the photos I took in front of him,” continues to explain in the post.
He added: “Honestly at that point, I would have paid $250 just for a glass of cold water and somewhere to sit for five minutes.”
The post sparked a discussion on whether the poster is in the wrong or not. On Reddit, most of the commenters agreed that the groom was in the wrong and the poster was not wrong for deleting the photos.
A comment on Reddit said: “Even professional wedding photographers who are paid $X,000 are given time to relax and have dinner during the reception/cocktail hour. It’s absolutely unreasonable for someone to be expected to work 10 hours without a break/food/water. (chiroone.com) ”
Another wrote disagreeing: “Again, I totally understand where you were coming from – yet you could have easily just left and held the pictures for ‘ransom’ for your $250.”
As for the poster’s thoughts on the situation, they mentioned in the comments that they regret their actions, as they now have “nothing to show” for their time.
