A 12-year-old boy dies in an indoor ski slope accident
A 12-year-old boy has died after sustaining serious injuries at Tamworth SnowDome, which is an indoor ski slope in Staffordshire, reports the Mirror.
A man was also injured during the incident at SnowDome in Tamworth on Friday evening, with emergency services called to the activity centre at around 6.40 pm. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the child was pronounced dead at the scene, reports Birmingham Live.
Staffordshire Police confirmed a man was also treated, with specialist officers supporting the boy’s family. The force has asked people not to speculate about the incident or share any images or footage from the scene.
It added that the Health and Safety Executive have been informed of the incident.
According to the Mirror, a police spokesman said: “We were called at 6.40pm this evening (Sept 24).. Officers attended the location along with ambulance crews who treated a boy at the scene. His parents are being supported by officers. Our thoughts are with them.”
“A man is also being treated for injuries. We would kindly urge people not to speculate about the incident or share any images/footage there may be,” he added.
The police also urge anyone who has information about the incident to contact them on 101 or via social media ref 665 of 24 September.

Police patrol cars were pictured parked outside the centre.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said to the mirror: “On arrival crews found a boy who had suffered very serious injuries.
“Staff worked on him providing advanced life support, but sadly, despite all of the efforts it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
Due to the accident, SnowDome announced on their official website that their facilities will be closed during the following weekend (25-26 September).
