Iraq Opens Fourth ‘Study in Iraq’ Scholarship Programme for International Students
The Iraqi Cultural Attaché in London has announced the fourth edition of the “Study in Iraq” scholarship and research programme for the 2026/2027 academic year, opening opportunities for Arab and international students of various nationalities to study at Iraqi educational and research institutions.
The programme is being launched as part of an initiative by Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to internationalise education and strengthen academic exchange. It offers students the opportunity to study in Iraq, the cradle of civilisations, with different levels of financial support available to attract talented students and those seeking to benefit from the country’s longstanding academic heritage.
Programme Details and Funding Options

The fourth edition of the “Study in Iraq” programme offers academic opportunities for high-achieving students under the slogan “Education for All”, with three funding options available:
- Full scholarships: Cover all tuition fees through direct support from the Iraqi government.
- Partial scholarships: Cover 50 per cent of tuition fees.
- Self-funded admission: Allows admitted students to enrol while covering the tuition fees themselves.
Fields of Study and Academic Environment

International students can apply to public and private universities across Iraq in a broad range of fields of study, including:
- Medical and health sciences.
- Engineering and natural sciences.
- Administrative and financial sciences.
