Mass Protest in London Today to Condemn Gaza Starvation and Ongoing Genocide
London, 19 July 2025 — Thousands are expected to flood the streets of central London today in a mass demonstration condemning Israel’s continued war on Gaza and the deliberate starvation of its population. Organised by the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB) in collaboration with the Palestine Coalition, the protest marks the 29th national mobilisation for Palestine in the UK since October 2023.
This mobilisation comes as Israel’s onslaught on Gaza enters its 650th day — a campaign increasingly described by legal experts and human rights organisations as genocide. The British government, however, remains publicly silent, despite mounting evidence of war crimes and a deepening humanitarian catastrophe.
Gaza: A People Starved and Bombed
More than 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza remain besieged under what campaigners describe as a policy of collective annihilation. Over 67,000 people have been killed or reported missing, including more than 19,000 children. Nearly 90% of the territory has been reduced to rubble, and over two million people have been forcibly displaced.
Most alarmingly, over 650,000 children are currently at risk of dying from starvation, as Israel continues to block humanitarian aid while targeting hospitals and shelters. “This is not just a war,” the PFB said in a statement. “It is a systematic, deliberate genocide.”
Adnan Hmaidan, Acting Chair of the Palestinian Forum in Britain, described the situation as “a stain on humanity” and “one of the most horrific forms of collective punishment in modern history.”
“We are witnessing a catastrophe in which fathers cannot feed their children, mothers suffer in silence, and the world looks away. In Gaza, flour now costs £30 per kilo. Starvation is being used as a weapon — a slow death delivered through siege and silence,” Hmaidan said.
A United Stand in the Heart of Britain
Today’s march is not just an act of protest, but a defiant show of solidarity across Britain. A wide array of voices — from trade unions and political representatives to artists, journalists, and survivors — will be taking to the stage to demand an immediate end to the massacres, an opening of the crossings, and accountability for complicity.

Together, these voices represent the breadth of British society — workers, students, artists, medics, and even Jewish anti-Zionist groups — all unified in one call: justice for Gaza, and an end to the genocide.
A Call for Action, Not Silence
The PFB urges the British public and all global citizens of conscience to take action — in the streets, in the press, and in the halls of power. “Let us speak up, let us write, let us shout,” the group said, “before those who remain alive die of hunger.”
As arms sales to Israel continue and diplomatic shields remain intact, today’s protest sends a clear message: the people of Britain are watching — and they will not be complicit.
