Man jailed for killing his farm animals

A man was found guilty of animal cruelty, as he left more than 170 animals unattended, some dead, for days on end.

Geoffrey Bennett was jailed for animal welfare offences, according to the BBC. After the hearing, the RSPCA said two ponies and a goat had to be put down on site and more were euthanised later.

The charity said that visiting the farm found starving animals standing in months worth of faeces.

Bennett was jailed for 19 weeks and banned from owning, keeping and dealing in animals.

Brits are advised to stay home in a predicted cold surge

Recent data has seen a surge in cold symptoms among Britons, including headaches, sore throats and extreme fatigue, the Independent reports.

According to The Times, data from the UK Health Security Agency showed that calls to 111 about cold and flu symptoms are exponentially increasing, particularly among patients aged 15 to 44.

Doctors are advising the public to take a PCR test in the case of any cold symptoms and staying home even if was not covid-19. That is the only way to curb any cold wave.

One expert told the Independent that the most likely explanation for the extreme cold symptoms is that “our immune systems have had limited exposure to colds over the past 18 months”.
